Sheila has always exhibited an immense passion for life. She has been a professional photographer since 1978. Her innate ability to understand light and shadow contributed to her success and the eventual creation of Atlanta Lighting Design in 1990.

With the inspiration of her mentor and master teacher, Michael David, Sheila has become obsessed with the world of encaustic, taking her photography to a new level.

Enamored with the ethereal quality that the living beeswax imparts to her photographs, she believes she has found her passion.

Artist's Statement

"Photography, for me, is best described as a response to a spiritual impulse to record an image. Photographic encaustics deliver spiritual energy through the application of a living medium that creates an ethereal image different from the original."
